Rointe electric underfloor heating systems are invisible solutions that save space and energy, for soft and comfortable warmth.

Rointe electric underfloor heating for ceramic or laminate/wood/carpet/vinyl floors

Discover electric underfloor heating solutions and mats, designed to meet the growing demand for this heating system across Europe. An invisible heating solution, electric floor heating is a space-saving alternative to traditional systems.

The heat emission of our underfloor heating is even and efficient, formed from the perfect mix of radiation and convection. It’s mostly dissipated by vertical radiation from the floor, whilst the remainder is released into the room through natural convection when the air comes into contact with the warm floor.

Benefits of Rointe electric underfloor heating.

Rointe electric underfloor heating mats can be easily installed quickly and won’t raise floor levels. These advanced floor heating systems can be used as a primary heat source to minimise your heating costs, but also work well when combined with other Rointe products like our electric radiators or towel rails.

Rointe underfloor heating provides stable temperatures at a low airspeed and is ideal for those who don’t want to install radiators on the walls. Choose from 2 solutions suitable for up to 6 different types of floor surfaces including ceramic/tiled, carpet, vinyl, wood, laminate and linoleum.

Seamless fit

Our electric underfloor heating has ultra thin heating mesh with 500 mm panel width and cable diameter at 3.5 mm. Spacing between cables 80 mm. Won't raise floor levels.

Control by smartphone

Control your underfloor heating where and when you need it through your smartphone, tablet or PC using the Rointe Connect app & CT.2 thermostat.

Insulation solutions

Insulation solutions are also available to maximise savings and efficiency. Meaning you can save money by reducing heating time by up to 90%.

Extended guarantees

Our underfloor heating systems include a 10-year guarantee on the heating mat.

INTELLIGENT THERMOSTAT CONTROL

Designed for easy management, we give you complete control over our electric underfloor heating with our digital thermostats.

The CT.2 thermostat is our smart control with WiFi connection, so you can view your energy usage and expenses along with adjusting your underfloor mat temperature from your smartphone. There’s also a non WiFi version available, the CT.0 thermostat if you need touch control without having to use your smartphone.

The ST.2 thermostat is easy to use and can be installed in minutes, allowing you to program Rointe underfloor heating systems from the compact keypad. The ST.0 thermostat is our basic, analogue control option with ON/OFF button, temperature selector and operation indication light. It’s easy to use for those that just need simple control.

SAFE & SECURE

Quality components you can trust.

Our electric underfloor heating systems have an IPX7 protection degree against dust and waterproof mesh.

The special fluoropolymer insulation of the conductive wire of our underfloor systems supports higher temperatures.

They also comply with all national and international regulations.

They’ve also been manufactured in compliance with Lot20 (when installed with our CT.2, CT.0 or ST.2 digital thermostat).

Radiant underfloor heating.

Our electric underfloor heating systems provide comfort and well-being without the need to install other heating products on the walls.

They are a popular choice as they heat a bigger surface area at a lower temperature.

002-security

We take the quality of our products one step further.

That’s why we’re able to offer the longest guarantees on the market of 10 years on our underfloor mats’ mesh and wiring.

Electric underfloor heating: FAQs

In an electric underfloor heating system, a series of electrical wires or heating mats are installed beneath your flooring. It’s usually placed on top of a layer of floor insulation, to ensure the heat travels upwards rather than down. The heating wires are then connected to your mains supply and it will also include a sensor to help regulate the temperature. You can then use a thermostat to control the temperature and turn the system on or off. Another insulation layer on top of the underfloor mat is sometimes recommended, depending on the type of flooring you have.

Electric underfloor heating works by a combination of methods: radiation, convection and conduction.

Radiation: warmth is emitted by the underfloor heating mat and travels directly (in a straight line) to a point of absorption, in this case, the floor. As the floor warms, it radiates heat outwards. This then triggers the convection cycle.

Convection: as the underfloor mat heats the floor, the air that comes into contact with it warms and rises, allowing cool air to flow into its place to warm. The cycle continues until all air in the room is warmed evenly and efficiently.

Conduction: underfloor heating also uses conduction to heat. When the mat begins to warm, it transfers thermal energy between objects that come into contact with the heated floor such as your feet, carpet and rug.

You can get underfloor heating fitted in pretty much any home and under almost any type of flooring. Electric underfloor heating is much easier to install or retro-fit than a wet based system mainly because they are less bulky and don’t require a network of pipes to be laid. If you choose a wet underfloor system rather than electric, it’s best to install as the property is built. That way you don’t need to remove existing flooring and lay a complicated pipe network. Wet systems often require the floor to be raised as well to accommodate the bulk. Different manufacturers will have different levels of difficulty in installation. Rointe underfloor mats have been designed so that installation is quick and easy.

This all depends on the type of floor to be installed over the top of the underfloor heating mat.

The Milos systems are specifically designed for a ceramic or tiled floor and in some cases natural or quarry stone tiles. The mesh has a full surface adhesive and is adaptable to uneven floors. The heating cable diameters are only up to 3.5mm thick so won’t raise your floor level. We also sell an insulation system for the Milos that reflects heat upwards towards the floor surface.

The Erko system is designed for more delicate flooring types like parquet, vinyl, linoleum or carpet as it’s a foil-coated mat. Therefore, it must be installed with a suitable soft insulation material both underneath and on top of the mat. This prevents the heating mat from possible damage and also increases the efficiency of the Erko electric underfloor heating system.

Electric underfloor heating can be a little more expensive to run than water underfloor systems, but not as much as you might think. It really depends on your electric tariff. Sometimes shopping around for a better tariff is a good idea when installing electric heating systems like heated floors. You could also think about finding an electricity supply from a renewable energy source like solar panels to keep costs down.

Underfloor heating installation is typically cheaper than a wet system as there is no complicated pipe network fed through the mains water supply.

Electric underfloor heating is also not as intrusive, especially if it’s being retro-fitted and is a popular option for new-builds to create low carbon homes.

Absolutely. It’s cheaper to fit than a traditional wet underfloor system and provides even heat for the whole room. You essentially turn your whole floor into a radiator, so a larger surface area can be heated more quickly with electric underfloor heating making it energy efficient and it’s a slimline, space-saving heating system. Electric heated floors are a very desirable feature for prospective home buyers, increasing the value of your home.
