All our electric heating systems are manufactured in Spain using high-quality European components.

Due to the bespoke nature of our products, we can only accept returns if we have prior written agreement with the customer.

We generally only accept returns if the product is faulty and there is a handling charge of at least 15% of the original cost price to cover receipt, inspection and fault registration costs.

All carriage charges relating to returns made to Rointe are at the customers’ cost.

If you have a non-faulty product you wish to return, you must contact our team on 0203 321 5928 to discuss.

We will not accept returns of any kind without a prior written agreement between Rointe and the customer.

Even though the quality of our products is second to none, we know that sometimes problems arise.

Our radiators are incredibly easy to install. We include a template and installation kit with each product to make things as easy as possible. In fact, with our electric radiators there are only 3 simple steps:

1. We size the room or property correctly using our Technical Study. 

2. Each product includes a template and installation guide. The installer simply needs to position, screw the fixings into the wall and slide the product into its bracket.

3. The user needs to configure the product. It’s easy with the D Series and Rointe Connect app. Or with the Kyros range, it comes with 4 pre-installed programs ready to use. You just need to activate the program best suited to your needs.

Our electric heating products are designed for easy, low maintenance.

We recommend that all parts are kept clean (behind, underneath, along the fins), by using a damp cloth and pH neutral soap.

Only clean the control panel with a dry cloth.

Do not use any abrasive material or chemicals on the product and switch the product off before cleaning.

No modifications can be made to any part of a Rointe heating product unless authorised by Rointe.

This includes (but not limited to) cutting the plug and opening the product.

We advise that the product is installed by an authorised official Rointe installer.

Your guarantee will be invalid if the product has been manipulated, modified and/or repaired in any way by unauthorised persons.

The success of our heating systems is down to the correct sizing of the product.

We have a team of specialised engineers that personally calculate the number of elements needed for each area.

In order to achieve maximum comfort and energy efficiency, several factors are considered:

· Location and corresponding climatic zone

· Rooms and area in m2

· Desired product

· Other items such as insulation, orientation, double glazing and staircase location

An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and is valid for 10 years.

It contains information about a property’s usage, energy costs and recommendations on how to reduce both. Lots of different parameters are taken into account when calculating an EPC, but unfortunately, electric heating does not count towards the rating because of the antiquated way in which it is assessed.

Rather than looking at actual efficiency at the point of use – of which our electric heaters always get 100%! – EPC ratings are more concerned with the base unit cost of energy.

So when it comes to gas versus electric, gas comes out as number 1 in the eyes of the EPC. Electric heating doesn’t fare well on the CO2 rating chart either as the assessment is based on the production of electricity via inefficient and outdated power stations.

None of this necessarily means that an electric heating system is poor quality; in fact, our most sophisticated electric heating solution on the market could still be judged as a 1-star system purely because of the predominant use of fossil fuels to create electricity.

This creates a problem for landlords as tenants want an efficient electric system with 24/7 programming, but the EPC states that an outdated storage heater will contribute towards a better score.

The bottom line is the Rointe electric heating systems are 100% energy efficient at the point of use, cost-effective and fully controllable, no matter what the EPC states.

The IP (or “Ingress Protection”) rating is an international standard (EN 60529) used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies (tools, dirt, dust etc.) and moisture.

The number that follows IP has a specific meaning and indicates the level of effectiveness.

The first number indicates the protection (of people) from moving parts and the second from different forms of moisture. The higher the number, the better the level of protection.

A number replaced by x indicates the product is not rated for that specification.

Lot20 is the new EU legislation designed to remove inefficient products and technologies from the market.

Part of the ECODESIGN Directive, Lot20 concerns local space heaters, including those with solid fuel. It states all local space heaters that consume energy (electricity, gas or liquid) with a nominal heat output equal to or greater than 250W, must comply with a minimum energy efficiency standard, which Rointe electric heating products achieve and even exceeds.

For a long time, gas was considered the cheapest way of heating a property. It is the most common form of heating in UK homes but has largely remained the same in terms of technology and efficiency.

Rointe electric heating, however, has evolved into an energy-efficient alternative. Our electric heating systems can be used for both air and water and are easier and cheaper to install than traditional gas systems.

Our products don’t require pipes or chimneys, just a simple connection to the electric circuit.

Whereas gas requires expensive maintenance to keep it safe, our electric heating products require very little maintenance as there are no flues to inspect or gas safety certificates to obtain.

In the past, the decision always came down to two options, old fashion gas central heating or inefficient electric storage heaters.

Here at Rointe, we’re dedicated manufacturers of energy-efficient heating systems that provide comfort to thousands of homes throughout Europe. We allow you to save money without losing comfort by using clean and reliable electric energy, that forms the basis of our low consumption heating systems.

Firstly, we recommend that the correct temperature is set (between 18 – 21 ºC) to prevent excessive consumption but maintain a warm and comfortable home. By reducing the temperature by just 1 ºC, you can increase your annual savings.

Secondly, as our products dissipate heat through natural air convection, please do not cover the product as this will interrupt the airflow and cause an overheating and fire risk.

Thirdly, correctly program your product for maximum efficiency and comfort. We suggest 3-4 hour bursts of activity, under 21 ºC, three times a day. In between these periods, your product should be set on anti-frost mode. This will ensure a warm room at the time you need it without consuming excessive kWh.

Currently, electric heating is not seen as favourable nor does it meet the criteria above for Part L, mainly because it is predominantly produced from an inefficient generation process using fossil fuels or nuclear reaction. The fact that electricity is generally more expensive than gas, is also another hindrance, due to the way it affects the EPC.

In order to make electric heating more favourable, clients have to install costly PV systems alongside excellent insulation, which in turn makes a build more expensive. Many construction professionals and clients are reluctant to do so when it is easier and cheaper to install a gas based or CHP system.

The U.K government has tough obligations to reduce carbon emissions, hence the need for Part L. A new draft SAP has been published that is likely to replace the current one in place since 2013.

This updated methodology for calculating energy use in new residential developments is set to have a significant impact on the way consultants design or specify heating systems for the purpose of Building Regulations compliance.

It is now recognised that with significant increases in the current and future cost of energy, we must look to reduce energy consumption as well as emissions.

The latest SAP draft has cut the amount of carbon, assumed to be produced by electricity generation, by nearly half because of the growth in wind power and other low carbon power sources, reflecting the rapid decarbonisation of the National Grid.

New carbon factors and distribution losses in the new SAP will change appraisal of low carbon heating options, making electric heating more favourable.

Yes, but only once the steady working rate has been achieved.

Due to the balance between heating elements, fluid and aluminium, the surface temperature of our radiators, once it reaches the steady working rate, does not exceed 43ºC, which is distributed evenly throughout the radiator surface.

In other products, temperature gradients occur between different parts of the product causing variability in the surface temperature with the consequent risk of burns.

However, in order to achieve a steady working rate, our products can exceed 43ºC surface temperature.
