Join our reforestation campaign to help restore our forests for a better future. For each Rointe product registered online, we'll donate trees for planting.

Forests cover around 31% of our planet. They help people and animals survive by purifying water and air, providing people with jobs and animals with habitats and food – 80% of the world’s land-based species reside within forests. Forests also play a big part in mitigating climate change, soaking up carbon dioxide that would otherwise remain the in air and contribute to the ongoing climate change patterns and crisis.

That’s why it’s so important to protect and recover them.

Deforestation and its effects

Deforestation is a serious environmental problem that affects all countries. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), an estimated 18 million acres (7.3 million hectares) of forest are lost each year. That’s the equivalent of 27 football fields. It’s classed as “the removal of a forest or stand of trees from land which is then converted to a non-forest use.”

Deforestation can have many causes: clearing of land for buildings, fuel, pasture for livestock and plantations. This has resulted in biodiversity loss, habitat damage, aridity and soil erosion.

Reforestation campaigns and vegetation recovery are important tools to fight the effects of deforestation, that worry us all. Increasing the vegetative cover helps absorb greater quantities of greenhouse gases, one of the main culprits of climate change.

Rointe campaign: Help our forests grow

We want to contribute to a healthier climate and restore our forests for a more sustainable future. So, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, for every Rointe heating product registered online, we’ll contribute funds for planting trees in the country where we were founded, Spain.

This year we’ve teamed up with C02 Revolution, experts in the optimization and repopulation of forests, to launch another tree-planting campaign, including a variety of important species like cedar, pine, hawthorn, willow and birch. The more products registered, the more trees can be planted. This campaign aims to restore a natural environment, located in Pontevedra (Galicia), that was devasted by fires in 2006, 2016 and 2017, by planting intelligent seeds using drones and traditional planting methods.

It’s simple to take part:

1. If you’ve purchased a Rointe heating product recently, go to our registration page here.
2. Click on “My Products” in your account and register your product using the reference and serial number.
3. You’ll then receive an email from Feefo, where you can leave us an honest review of your product and we’ll add a tree to our campaign on your behalf.
